Boiler Plant
The company designs (both locally and in association with our international technology partners), manufactures, constructs and maintains utility and industrial boilers. The company also designs and manufactures related products, incorporating heat transfer technology.
John Thompson‘s industrial watertube boiler designs include coal fired boilers with traveling grate and CAD spreader stokers; fibrous fuel-fired boilers with CAD spreader stokers for dual-fuel firing as well as pinhole and dump grates; CFB, industrial oil/gas-fired and waste-heat boilers.
Package firetube boiler designs include: coal-fired boilers with chaingrate stokers, wood-fired boilers with fixed grates, oil/gas-fired boilers and custom designed waste-heat boilers. Ancillary plant such as deaerators, pre-boiler plant, coal and ash handling plant, pipework, instrumentation and controls, etc are also included in the product range
Environmental Plant
Recognizing the vast and challenging demands of ever tightening environmental regulations, regular interchange of technology with our international partners ensures common access to advanced technology to the benefit of all group companies and their customers. John Thompson provides equipment for the cleaning up of emissions resulting from the firing of fuels or other processes which results in waste emissions to atmosphere.

As part of JOHN THOMPSON's on-going quality programme, the company has an SABS ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems listing. The listing includes design, which forms a major part of our business and further ensures that our customers are provided with a quality product. Coupled with JT's expertise and stringent quality assurance requirements associated with the manufacture of boilerplant and pressure vessels, the company also manufactures high integrity heavy fabrications for the Utility, Petrochemicals, Sugar, Pulp and Paper Industries and others.
